Lenovo is reportedly working on a Windows gaming console called the “Legion Go”
IT House reported on August 1 that the field of PC games and handhelds has been heating up in recent years. Valve’s Steam Deck and ASUS’ ROG Ally have achieved good results. Now, another company is about to get involved.
According to WindowsCentral, sources have revealed that Lenovo is developing a PC gaming handheld called “Legion Go,” which will use the Windows 11 system for greater PC gaming compatibility. In addition, the product is expected to be equipped with AMD Ryzen 7040 series chips. AMD positions the chip in the ultra-thin field, focusing on game consoles, artificial intelligence and ultrabook products.
According to the outlet’s predictions, the Legion Go could feature an 8-inch screen, making it larger than the Asus ROG Ally or the Steam Deck, both of which have 7-inch displays. Console games are often designed for larger monitors or even TVs, and on smaller screens it can be difficult to see UI elements, especially if the game doesn’t have a UI scaling option.
It should be noted that whether the Legion Go will be officially launched is still unknown, and Lenovo officials have not yet confirmed the existence of this product.
Lenovo had developed an Android handheld called Legion Play in 2021, but it was not officially launched in the end. Although Lenovo has never confirmed this product, relevant information has been left on the official website, which at least shows that Lenovo has plans to sell it.
